This is the Year of…

By now, you probably have New Year’s resolutions coming out of your ears…

I know, I’ve been busily working away at my own ‘master plan’ the past few days.

I figured I’d drop you a tip to make the most of your training in 2010.

I find setting an overall objective for the year a great way to keep me on track.

For example, focusing on maxing your single rep pressing strength over the next 12 months. You can max your strength endurance, or add 30 lbs of muscle, or working up to a ridiculous amount of reps in bodyweight exercises. Same goes for getting shredded, or brining up lagging body parts.

The idea is, that the next 12 month’s worth of training is guided by a primary goal.

So say you want to max your single rep strength, your routines, nutrition, etc will all be designed with that in mind.

To me, this acts like a beacon far off in the distance. It helps me stay on track, and gives me something big to work towards.

It also makes planning that much easier. It’s like half the work is done. I know what I want, and I simply train and eat accordingly.

Give it a try. I think you’ll find it helps ‘sticking’ to your goal.

And spending the next 365 days working towards a goal can only mean one thing…Massive Gains.

Train Smart, Train Hard
