Yesterday was a hectic day.
I had a whack of meetings to get to…
A couple of them in person at opposite ends of town, and some over the telefono…
I had a few extra articles to get out the door…
Things to take care of at the family business…
And a stack of mail I had to get through that looked like the Leaning Tower of Pisa
And to add insult to injury, ‘Murphy’ showed up…and no, I’m not talking my grade 6 teacher, Mr. Murphy (random info, I’ve never seen anyone blink as much as Mr. Murphy. The guy’s eyelids must have been crossbred with the wings of a freaking humming bird…)
This Murphy brought a bunch of things that magically moved from the ‘important but not urgent’ pile, to the ‘AAAAHHHHH MY HAIR’S ON FIRE’ list…At least that’s what the people sounded like who needed this stuff ASAP
Yeah, Speedy Gonzales hopped up on speed couldn’t have handled all of this excitement…(wait a minute…was my little Mexican buddy actually on something?!?!?!…nnnnahhhh…that was all natural…)
(as you can probably tell, my mind’s still going at Mach 5…)
The best part of all, was that I had a serious squat workout set for this day. And I was NOT missing it…
I was Dirty Harry serious about this; I was going to train that day…
Now imagine my frustration every time I looked at the clock, and saw that another hour had passed…
What the heck was going on? Was Father Time messing with me!?!…
When I finally finished up, it was midnight. I was also starving…
I wanted to eat, wanted to workout, and needed to get to bed ASAP
I felt like a fat kid…I wanted to have my cake, and eat it, too…
I put some food into my belly… and I don’t know if I somehow speed my metabolism, but I was good to train within a half hour.
I looked at the clock, and thought about holding off until tomorrow….
Not a good idea…
It ticked off my Big Self, and I was liable to crack my self upside the head for thinking such a thing…
I then remembered a conversation I had with Bud Jeffries, a seriously strong and enduring dude.
He told me how he adjusts his workouts when life gets in the way.’
Before all of his words finished playing back in my mind, I was doing my warm up set.
I chopped my workout down to a few heavy sets of partials, then banged out a set of full range squats, and two sets of abs.
My thighs were toast, in record time, too!
And even though I didn’t do the exact routine I had planned for, I actually used heavier weights.
So next time around, my regular routine will be that much easier…that’s right, no losing ground from a missed workout…
Oh, and did I mention that I was only running on 2 hours of sleep?
Like I said before…
If you truly want it, it yours for the taking…

PS: You gotta feed yourself right, especially if you’re gonna handle crazy days like the one above. To learn what to put into your belly for maximum gains and performance…
Make like Speedy Gonzales, and Arriba! Arriba! Andale! Andale! your behind on over here NOW
